Accounting /Bursar/ Bookkepper 

We are looking for an Accounting /Bursar to oversee the day-to-day operation of our financial services, like collecting tuition fees and managing account receivable/payable. Experience with Quickbooks required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day cash management 
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Keeping organized books of tuition fees, receivables, payables, and files of receipts


Your main responsibilities include management of our budget, procurement and payment of supplies and setup of our financial procedures. You will also undertake general and financial administrative tasks (e.g. managing employment contracts, ensuring compliance with the law and contacting local authorities.) To be successful in this role, you should be able to perform multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner, under minimal supervision.

Ultimately, you should ensure the smooth financial and operational management of the academy, in compliance with regulations, state and federal laws..

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day cash management
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Keep organized books of tuition fees and files of receipts
  • Prepare expense reports on a regular basis
  • Manage annual budget
  • Design and update financial procedures
  • Liaise with local authorities and academy governors
  • Report to the academy officers on performance
  • Record all transactions on the student accounts 
  • Manage student tuition and fee billing and student statement processes
  • Manage student Accounts Receivable and payment plans
  • Answer student inquiries related to the student ledger, billing and payments
  • Analyze student ledgers for accuracy and ensure proper posting of all charges and payments
  • Process student refunds according to federal regulations, state law and institution policy
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students and/or parents, as well as other departments, in order to resolve problems and answer questions.  
  • Assures excellent customer service is provided to students, parents, employees, and non-academy customers who have concerns or questions by assuring that staff answering the questions have a thorough understanding of academy policies and procedures throughout the academy, such as payment and drop deadlines, fees, credit hour costs, the academic calendar, etc.
  • Maintains accuracy of charges, credits, payments, and refunds and reconciles the accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger. 
  • Oversees daily refunding of credit balances, maintenance of direct deposit records, and resolution of deposit returns.
  • Oversees the operation of the  Bursar’s Office and ensures the financial integrity of the office.
  • Completes journal entries as needed to record and/or allocate revenue and expense to appropriate cost centers or charges to customer accounts.
  • Completes the activities of Collection/Bad Debt system and coordinates the write-off of bad debt.
  • Performs or reviews journal entries recording ACH deposits to the academy savings account and the monthly reconciliation of direct loan records to the Department of Education.
  • Administers various programs, such as the tax credit program for students and/or parents.
  • Ensures the timeliness of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers 
  • Performs monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepares and supervises the preparation of audit workpapers for the fiscal year audit by researching and analyzing the year-to-date accounting information.

Requirements and Skills

  • Prior experience as a Bookkeeper, Bursar or Accounting Manager  / New Graduates considered
  • Computer literacy (MS Excel, Quickbooks)
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and best practices
  • Familiarity with budget preparation and cash flow management
  • Solid time management skills with an ability to prioritize work
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations
  • BS Degree in Accounting, Business Management or relevant degree

Clinical Nurse Instructor

Richard Medical Academy has an exciting opportunity to advance your career! We are seeking qualified Clinical Instructors to provide clinical education to our prelicensure RN and PN  nursing students in our programs. Clinical Instructors supervise students in the clinical setting, provide appropriate evaluation of a student's clinical performance, serve as a professional role model, and foster positive relationships with clinical sites. 

We are in need of Clinical Instructors for both long term care and hospital clinical sites. Hours and location vary depending on the type of clinical and unit availability. Clinical Instructors are needed in both Toledo, Ohio and Monroe, Michigan  

Qualifications include: a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in Nursing, at least two years of clinical experience as an RN and an unencumbered current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio (Toledo clinical sites) or an unencumbered current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan (Monroe clinical site).

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift

• 12 hour shift

• 4 hour shift

• 8 hour shift

• Day shift

• Evening shift

Our class sizes are small, allowing for individual attention. RMA’s academic calendar runs on quarters with classes offered year-round.  

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Minimum Education: Master of Science Nursing

Preferred Education: Doctorate of Nursing (PhD, DNP)

Minimum Years and Type of Experience Required:

  • Current valid, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Ohio
  • Experience for at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical, laboratory or classroom setting in appropriate fields.
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated use of appropriate technology in the classroom.
