Up until now, if you have needed accommodations, a team of your teachers, parents and school administrators determined what you needed and received. At RMA and other post secondary schools, students take on the responsibility of establishing appropriate academic accommodations for themselves. According to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title II), if you want and need to receive academic accommodations and/or disability support services, you must initiate the process. The process is outlined in your Student Handbook or you can stop by Student Services to initiate the process. The forms are available below and in the lobby of the Administration Building. Once they are complete, you will submit them to the Program Administrator
The Technical Standards for RMA are outlined in the Student Handbook.
The Richard Medical Academy (RMA) will consider for admission and advancement any individual able to perform pursuant to the standards, which are used as guidelines. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with a disability in accordance with applicable laws and policies, while maintaining the integrity of program standards. Accommodations will be determined on a case by case basis.
