• Make sure your Tuition and Fees are paid.  Having an unpaid balance will hold up your Letter of Completion, your transcripts and your diploma.  
•  Complete your application (either Ohio or MultiState) for licensure by examination in eLicense no more than 60 days before graduation. If you pass your mid-term HESI, you can start the process. It is in your best interest to wait until you pass your HESI.  Click Here
• Once you complete your eLicense you will get an application number from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Share your application number, in the correct format, with RMA's Program Administrator. Email here  
• Begin your criminal background check (including FBI) through Ohio BCI approximately 60 days before graduation. Select OBN as the Direct Copy Receiver on all background check forms. No paper submissions please.   Use Code: ORC 4723.091  See April in Admissions for convenient, on campus, BCI Check. 
• Your letter of completion will then be sent by the Program Administrator after you graduate and are financially cleared. The Ohio Board of Nursing will then make you exam eligible once all required materials are received. They will notify you and then you go to the next step.
• Register with Pearson VUE through NCSBN website: Click Here This is a separate registration from your licensure application. Pearson VUE will issue your ATT- Authorization To Test). Make sure to use your legal name on your application and when registering with Pearson VUE. Your name must match exactly to receive your Authorization to Test (ATT).   
• Your ATT will come directly from Pearson VUE. Sign up for the NCLEX as soon as possible after receiving your ATT.

•  No more than 60 days before graduation and after passing your HESI, begin the online Application For A Registered or Practical Nurse License - Complete all fields, answer all questions and upload any supporting documentation. Online application can be completed by visiting https://aca-prod.accela.com/MILARA/CommunityView/account/new Application Fee (Must be paid by Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit or debit card.): RN or LPN by Examination $208.80 (Valid for 2 years from date issued) 
• THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS APPLY TO ALL APPLICANTS (EXCEPT RENEWAL):  
• Criminal Background Check – Once the online application is completed and submitted you will be emailed an Application Confirmation letter containing instructions to complete the Criminal Background Check. Wait until you have this before starting your background check.
• Good Moral Character Questions – Documentation will be required if you answer “yes” to either question to show at the current time you have the ability to, and are likely to, serve the public in a fair, honest and open manner, that you are rehabilitated, or that the substance of the former offense is not reasonably related to the occupation or profession for which you are seeking a license.  
• Human Trafficking Training– Beginning January 6, 2022, completion of training to identify victims of human trafficking is required for initial licensure.  
• Social Security Number – An individual applying for licensure is required to provide his or her social security number at the time of application. If exempt under law from obtaining an SSN or do not have an SSN, the SSN affidavit form will be required to be uploaded at the time the application is submitted.  
•  Implicit Bias Training– Beginning June 1, 2022, completion of 2 hours of implicit bias training within the 5 years immediately preceding issuance of the license or registration is required.  Professional Education – Name of School Attended and Name of Educational Program Completed.
•  Final, Official Transcripts or the Michigan Nursing School Certification Form, if applicable– This must be submitted directly to our office from the nursing school attended and meet the standards set forth by the Board. If you completed a registered professional nurse education program in another state that was not accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), you must additionally have the following submitted for review:  A letter to the department from the program, on official program letterhead, signed by the director of nursing, attesting that the program curriculum complies with both of the following: 1) The registered nurse education program is at least 60 weeks in duration and includes courses providing theory and clinical practice that comply with R 338.10303d and R 338.10306 to R 338.10308. 2) The registered nurse education program curriculum contains the core curriculum as defined in R 338.10301

 NCLEX® REGISTRATION PROCESS OVERVIEW 

1. Submit an application for licensure/registration to the nursing regulatory body (NRB) where you wish to be licensed/registered. 

2. Meet all of the NRB’s eligibility requirements to take the NCLEX. 

3. Register for the NCLEX with Pearson VUE. 

4. Receive NCLEX Registration Acknowledgement email from Pearson VUE. 

5. The NRB makes you eligible in the Pearson VUE system. 

6. Receive Authorization to Test (ATT) email from Pearson VUE. 

7. Schedule your exam with Pearson VUE.
